November 15, 2018: STATEMENT BY THE CLERGY OF THE TOWN OF ORANGE:

In response to the recent anti-Semitic, homophobic and racist rhetoric and actions that have been reported at the Amity High School, we, the members of the Clergy of the Town of Orange stand together and condemn any and all such language and express our profound sadness that students in the Amity School System are being subjected to these hurtful words and symbols of hate. We find these actions gravely offensive and totally unacceptable. [ more ]

Shabbat on the Beach

Friday, July 27 at 7:00 pm.  Come to our third annual Shabbat service on the beach! The service will begin at 7pm. Feel free to arrive earlier - & bring a picnic if you like! This service will take place at Gulf Beach, Milford. (Coming from the Synagogue, drive to the former ShopRite on the corner of Cherry St & Gulf St ...turn left onto Gulf St... Proceed till you arrive at the beach. Set your GPS for #460, Gulf St) Look for us on the beach alongside the inlet, to the right of the Goody's concession. Men's Club members will welcome you and point to where we'll be. (Men's Club is coordinating the event). If you'd like to join a carpool to the beach please be at the Synagogue by 6:15 pm, or call Allen Cohen, President of Men's Club at 203.288.5011. Please dress casually! (The rabbi will be tieless and shoeless!) IMPORTANT: PLEASE BRING A BLANKET OR BEACH CHAIR! AND PLEASE BRING HATS! (Yarmulkas fly away!) [ more ]

THE TEN COMMANDMENTS OF KEEPING KOSHER AT CONGREGATION OR SHALOM

1) Use of our kitchens must be scheduled in advance with the Synagogue office.

2) Only unopened foods displaying a recognized Kosher symbol, or foods prepared by a recognized Kosher caterer are allowed into the Synagogue. [ more ]
