Sunday School
Students in Alef (1st grade) and Bet (2nd grade) attend classes on Sunday mornings from 9:00 am -11:30 am.
They are introduced to Jewish Holidays, Bible stories, the Alef-Bet, Prayers, Jewish Cooking, Israeli Dance, and Tzedakah (Charity).
Prior to Passover, students and parents participate in The Matzah Factory Workshop, during which students learn the story of Passover and have the opportunity to make their own Matzah.
Throughout the year, students meet with the Rabbi for storytelling, puppetry, prayer, and song.
Prayer Curriculum for Grades 1/2
The First/Second graders will learn the following Friday evening prayers & songs:
Hinei Mah Tov
Shabbat Candles
Mizmor Shir
Sh'ma Israel
Oseh Shalom
Hagafen
Hamotzi (prayer over bread)
Shabbat Shalom
In addition, they will learn the Hanukah blessings, "Ma Nishtanah” & “Dayenu" for Passover.
