Diane Litwin, daughter of Linda Philips & Chaim Litwin, grew up at Congregation Or Shalom. She celebrated her Bat Mitzah here, and even remembers winning (and then tragically losing...) a goldfish at the Purim Carnival. After leaving Or Shalom, she earned a degree in elementary education and entered the Jewish environmental world as a teacher with the Teva Learning Center. She later spent two years working as a farm educator at Eden Village Camp in New York at "The Jewish Farm Camp" - a new sleep-away camp, fostering an environmentally sustainable, socially just & spiritually connected world." She taught people of all ages there about the connections between ecology, agriculture and Judaism. Diane now spends her days teaching at Common Ground Farm, an Environmental Education Center and High School in New Haven, CT.
