Adult Ed- “Were the Israelites Really in Egypt?”

A Zoom event sponsored by:Temple Beth Sholom & Congregation Or Shalom,Tuesday, March 2nd @ 7pm
(Preceded by a Brief Evening Service at 6:45 pm)

Speaker: Rabbi Benjamin Edidin Scolnic, Spiritual Leader of Congregation Beth Sholom.  Tuesday evening, March 2nd, members of Congregation Or Shalom and Temple Beth Sholom of Hamden will gather via Zoom video-conferencing to explore one of the most oft-asked questions about the Bible: "Were the Israelites really in Egypt?" For a number of years, Rabbi Scolnic was a member of the North Sinai Archaeological Expedition that excavated Tell el-Borg, a previously unknown site in Egypt. The purpose of the dig was to explore possible routes the Israelites may have taken in their departure from slavery. Geology and geography can now be brought together, with the help of archaeological finds, to present a theory about the site of Migdol, one of the four biblical coordinates for the location of the Exodus.
