11th Annual Kristallnacht Commemoration

Sunday, November 5, 2017 – 9a.m.  Marion Pritchard, may she rest in peace, distinguished herself as a savior of Jewish children in the Netherlands during World War II. She helped save approximately 150 Dutch Jews - mostly children - in the midst of the Holocaust. Marion was imprisoned and tortured by the Nazis for her resistance work. In addition to participating in scores of short-term rescue operations, Marion sheltered an entire family, one of whom was a newborn infant, for three years. In the course of that undertaking, a known Dutch Nazi collaborator discovered the family Marion was sheltering and was on the verge of informing on them to the Nazi authorities. In that moment, Marion did something that would haunt her the rest of her life. Come and find out the rest of this spellbinding history! Guest Speakers will include Sen. Richard Blumenthal, Marion's son Arnie Pritchard, Professor Deborah Dwork and thrillingly, "baby Erica" (pictured above, sitting on Marion's lap) whom Marion raised in hiding as her surrogate mother.
